Community Safety — Iveco-Based Compact Fire Trucks Target Urban “Last Mile” Challenges

October 12, 2026

Shanghai Jindun has introduced a new series of compact fire trucks specifically engineered for urban community fire stations, addressing the critical “last mile” challenge in emergency response. The Iveco-based vehicles were officially unveiled at a community fire station inauguration ceremony in Shanghai’s Xuhui District in 2025.

The new trucks feature a 3,300mm wheelbase and an overall length of just 5,995mm, enabling access to narrow streets and older residential areas where standard fire trucks cannot operate. Despite their compact dimensions, these vehicles carry meaningful firefighting capability, with options for a 30L/s pump or advanced CAFS compressed air foam system, and 1-2 tons of extinguishing agent capacity.

The design incorporates several innovations: a fully integrated cab and crew compartment without welding modifications, Z-Vision lighting system with synchronized warning lights, and a choice of manual or automatic transmission. The cab system achieves 100% localized production while meeting Ziegler‘s quality standards.

This product line reflects Shanghai Jindun’s understanding that effective firefighting requires more than large trucks — it requires right-sized solutions for specific operational environments. For municipalities and fire departments seeking to strengthen community-level emergency response, these compact vehicles offer a practical, cost-effective option.
